Yu Garden, beautiful both day and night

Yu Garden, located in the center of Shanghai's old town, is a garden built in the Ming and Qing dynasty style.

It was created over more than 20 years by Pan Yunduan, a Ming dynasty official, for his father's comfortable retirement 400 years ago. However, Yu Garden disappeared during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It was looted by British troops who occupied Shanghai during the Opium War, then used as a military base by the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom army, and later destroyed by Qing dynasty forces. After extensive restoration, Yu Garden's former grandeur has been reduced, but you can still feel the charm and elegance of the finest garden in southern China. (Naver Encyclopedia)

It’s beautiful to see during the day, but personally, Yu Garden at night is truly stunning.
Since the restored Yu Garden’s splendor has been scaled down, it’s hard to even imagine how much more magnificent and beautiful it must have been in the past.
