Day 1: Nanjing Pedestrian Street, Yuyuan Garden, City God Temple, The Bund
Day 2: Gongyan, Jing’an Temple, Qibao Ancient Town
【Must-Visit Attractions】
1. Nanjing Pedestrian Street: Very wide, not crowded despite many people. Both sides have unique shops, malls, restaurants, snacks, souvenirs, and more.
2. Yuyuan Garden: Closes at 4:30 PM, last entry at 4 PM. An ancient garden with small bridges, flowing water, bridges, willows—everything you expect. Great for photos, but too many tourists and tour groups. It’s hard to get a photo without other people. Managed to snap a few quickly as staff were closing the garden and asking people to leave.
3. City God Temple: Went too late, closes at 5 PM, so could only look from outside. Inside is large with different small temples for worship according to the map. The square outside the City God Temple has a snack street worth exploring, featuring ancient and early Republican styles. Great spots for photos with a strong atmosphere.
4. The Bund: About a 10-minute walk from City God Temple, very crowded. Walking north along the Bund, you can see the iconic Shanghai trio on the opposite shore, including the Oriental Pearl Tower. On the other side is the golden European-style architecture of Shanghai Bund. A great photo spot and a must-visit for tourists.
5. Gongyan: An immersive dining experience in an ancient palace setting. Reservation is required; if late, you can’t choose good seats, which greatly affects the experience. Each dish is preceded by performances including music, dance, and drama. Dress in ancient costumes for photos. Price is about 600 RMB per person (398 for the meal, 100 for costume, 100 for makeup).
6. Jing’an Temple: Passed by on the way to Gongyan. Very grand and magnificent, golden and bright, resembling a Japanese castle. Entrance requires a ticket. This time only walked outside, did not enter.
7. Qibao Ancient Town: About a 40-minute subway ride. Feels like Jiufen Old Street. Along the way, there are snacks, jewelry, and snacks shops. The clock tower and bridge are must-visit photo spots. Very beautiful at sunset, with lanterns lighting up both sides at night.
【Must-Try Food】
1. Chan San Chi – great cost-performance ratio
2. Renheguan, Mizhilian – one Michelin star, reasonably priced with nostalgic decor
【Recommended Accommodation】
Hotel Name: Heyi Supreme Hotel
Located in the center of Nanjing Pedestrian Street, about 5 minutes to the subway station. Surrounded by malls and restaurants. The old Sincere Building is a century-old historic building, renovated inside with modern facilities.
