The Yellow River Museum, founded in 1955, is located at the intersection of Huayuan Road and Yingbin Road in Zhengzhou. As one of the world's oldest river museums, it was, as of 2016, the only natural science museum in China dedicated solely to the Yellow River. The museum has served as a base for patriotic education, moral education, quality-oriented education, and social practice for numerous universities and technical secondary schools.

The museum is divided into five exhibition areas: River Basin Geography Exhibition Area, Cradle of Nationalities Exhibition Area, Thousand Years of River Management Exhibition Area, New Chapter of River Management Exhibition Area, and Road to Harmony Exhibition Area.
