Shanghai Chongming Historical and Cultural Landmark — Chongming Confucian Temple

✅ Chongming Confucian Temple is located in Chengqiao Town, Chongming District, Shanghai. It is one of the three remaining complete Confucian temples in Shanghai, originally built during the Ming Dynasty, and currently houses the Chongming Museum.

Two Qing Dynasty stone archways in front of the gate are engraved with “Virtue matches Heaven and Earth, the Way surpasses ancient and modern,” full of ancient charm. The Lingxing Gate is the main entrance of the temple, with a 350-year-old ginkgo tree and stone lions in front, exuding a strong sense of history.
