Avoiding the holiday peak, I couldn’t wait to check in!! Many online complaints say it’s not worth the ticket price, but I feel it’s totally worth it! Even on rainy days ☔️ photos come out amazing, not to mention on a sunny day ☀️ when sunlight fills the entire venue. Highly recommend checking it out, perfect for family/kids, couples, or best friends trips, offering an immersive jungle adventure experience~
I departed from Suzhou, and the high-speed train 🚄 gets to Shanghai very quickly. I want to recommend a very niche hotel 🏨 that I stay at frequently, called Houju Hotel. It’s right in the center of Shilu and very close to the high-speed rail station, with convenient subway access 😏 no need to wake up early to catch a train. I really like the color tone of this hotel 💕 very vintage and also great for photo ops. Friends coming to Suzhou who don’t know where to stay, come back to Houju~
📍Location: Shanghai Greenhouse Garden (inside Shanghai Expo Cultural Park)
🎫Tickets: Weekdays 98 / Weekends 128
🕐Hours: 9:00-17:00, last entry at 16:30
🚇Transport: Metro Line 7, Houtan Station (Exit 4, about 10-15 minutes walk); Taxi 🚙 choose [Shanghai Greenhouse Garden]

🗺Play Guide
1⃣️ Mirage Sandbar 🏜🌵
Hall 1, Mirage Sandbar, is my favorite! It simulates a hot arid ecosystem, featuring unique desert plants 🌵 and the legendary Asia’s largest baobab tree 🌲.
2⃣️ Cloud Forest 🌳🌿
Hall 2, Cloud Forest, simulates a tropical rainforest environment, crossing from sky to underwater spaces. The very photogenic [Underwater Forest] is inside Hall 2! You can also walk on the V-shaped bridge for photos, enjoying a unique rainforest spectacle 👀.
3⃣️ Cloud Mist Canyon ⛰️
Compared to Halls 1 and 2, Hall 3 is a bit less impressive with no major highlights. This hall focuses on the theme of [Flowers in the Air], making you feel like you’re at Singapore’s Supertree Grove in a second.
4⃣️ Shanghai “Altay”
The legendary Shanghai Altay is really beautiful (when it’s not crowded 🤣). Spread a picnic mat on the large lawn by the lake 🌿, bring coffee ☕️, and you can lie down for an entire afternoon.
🍱Dining
👉Location: The park offers various light meals and coffee options
✅Recommendation: Try the park’s specialty snacks and enjoy quality family time.
🚌Tour Bus
🔹Service: If tired, you can take the park’s sightseeing bus for an easy tour.
🔹Route: The bus covers Twin Peaks, Greenhouse Garden, and Moli Amusement Park.
📸Photography: (‼️ Personally, I think coming between 12:00-15:00 is best for photos, as the sunlight’s penetration and angle are optimal.) In Halls 2⃣️ and 3⃣️, you can capture lots of sunlight filtering through green leaves, very photogenic 😎.
👗Outfit: Light colors are recommended, casual vacation style fits best~
⚠️Tips:
1⃣️ Good weather makes the ticket price worth it, with exquisite scenery + great photo opportunities! The area is larger than Singapore’s Cloud Forest 😯.
2⃣️ Spend 2-3 hours in the greenhouse; if you want to look closely, half a day is needed.
3⃣️ Weekends have moderate crowds in the greenhouse, but Twin Peaks gets very crowded 🥲.
4⃣️ After visiting, you can go to Twin Peaks (book in advance 🆓 Moli Amusement Park 🆓 or camping on the big lawn ⛺️).
☝️Summary: Although the ticket is a bit pricey, the overall experience on weekdays is quite good. You can see greenery 🪴 you don’t usually get to see, making it a great spot for dates and walks. However, on holidays… it’s best to go as early as possible to avoid crowds 👩.
