Hotel Chalet Shanghai

🏢 Hotel Chalet Shanghai 🏢

🏖️ Environment:
Located in Shanghai, China, this hotel is conveniently accessible and easy to find. It is near People Square Exit 14 (no escalator). If you’re not checking in early, you can use Exit 15 (with escalator) at Raffles Place or Exit 20 (with escalator), which is just across the street.

Hotel:
📍 The check-in lobby is on the 5th floor, while the guest rooms are on floors 3-5.

📍 The staff are polite and helpful. You can contact the hotel via WeChat. On the first day, my family and I were assigned rooms on different floors (3rd and 5th) as rooms on the same floor were fully booked. On the second night, the staff offered to change our rooms, allowing us to choose the floor. We opted for the 5th floor (same as the lobby), which was more convenient.

📍 The rooms match the descriptions provided. The beds and pillows are comfortable (at least for me). Despite being near the lobby, rooms like 501 and 502 are quiet with no disturbances.

📍 The rooms are not cramped and feature faux windows that simulate outdoor lighting. There’s no cigarette smell.

📍 The space is sufficient to open two 28-inch suitcases.

📍 Multiple power outlets are available, and no adapter is needed.

📍 The bathroom and shower areas are separated by doors. The toilet is an automatic flush type without a bidet.

📍 On the 3rd floor, the shower door seals tightly, preventing water from splashing outside. On the 5th floor, if the shower pressure is high, some water may splash out, but it doesn’t flood. A foot towel is provided to absorb any water.

📍 Housekeeping cleans daily, replenishes two bottles of water, and refills tea and coffee sachets in the room. Additional water can be requested at the lobby.

📍 The air conditioning is adjustable, though centrally controlled. It’s sufficiently cool.

📍 There’s a refrigerator, but it’s more of a temperature-maintaining unit rather than a cooling one.

📍 Daily amenities include toothbrushes, combs, and a hairdryer.

📍 Luggage storage is available during check-in and check-out.

📍 You can call a DiDi ride directly to the hotel entrance.

This hotel is a great choice. It’s within walking distance to East Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, The Bund, and M&M. The area around the hotel offers plenty of dining options, including Starbucks and Chagee. You can also walk to East Nanjing Road for meals at places like Fan Zheng Xiang Da Shi Tang (饭蒸香大食堂) or crab noodles at Xie San Bao (蟹叁宝), about 400 meters away.
