Tested Shanghai Ji Hotel (People's Square Branch): Convenience and Minor Regrets at the Center of the Universe
Friends, today I’m sharing my experience at the Shanghai Ji Hotel located in People's Square, the center of the universe, to see how the stay is at this super convenient location 🧐
Soundproofing and Cleanliness: Mixed Feelings
First, about soundproofing—if someone walks or chats in the corridor, you can definitely hear it inside the room; the soundproofing is somewhat disappointing 😕. But luckily, at night when resting, it’s generally quiet with no major disturbances, so you can basically get a good night's sleep.
As for cleanliness, I’d give it a 3/5. Overall, the basic hygiene is acceptable, and the room was cleaned quite well. However, visible small flaws like rusty hangers do affect the mood a bit, which is a little upsetting to see 😟.
Room Type and Layout: Comfortable but with Minor Flaws
I stayed in a queen bed room; the bed was large and quite comfortable, allowing you to enjoy the freedom to toss and turn 🛏. But the pillow was too soft and lacked support, leaving my neck a bit sore after waking up. I remember the front desk mentioned they could provide other types of pillows—wish I had known earlier.
The room has a window, and I thought being near the road would mean good ventilation, but there was a surprise upon entering. The window is small, and compared to the corridor window, the lighting and ventilation aren’t much better. The room is rather dim during the day, with only a faint view of the street 🌆. It was a bit awkward when putting on makeup because the lighting wasn’t sufficient, so you just have to rely on luck.
Nearby Attractions: Excellent Location, Super Convenient Travel
But I have to praise the hotel’s location—it’s truly top-notch 👍! Just a few minutes’ walk to People’s Square Metro Station, Raffles City, Shanghai Book City, and Huangpu District Library. If you choose to take a taxi, ride-hailing cars can stop right across the hotel, making transportation extremely convenient in this center of the universe, People’s Square 🚕. The surrounding buses are also very convenient; wherever you want to go, just use navigation to pick the best transport option, making it easy to get around and have fun anywhere~
Amenities and Facilities: Ji Standard Setup, Practical Above All
The hotel has the standard Ji sofa setup. The sofa in my room was quite large, easily fitting several bags. The small coffee table and the side table next to the clothes rack are very practical; girls can put their makeup and skincare products there, making it very handy to use 💄.
Other Services: Robot Service is Super Fun
If you need anything, just contact the front desk. The hotel’s robot service is really well done and quite fun 🤖. Whatever you need, just tell the front desk, and the robot will “clack clack” deliver it to you—both convenient and entertaining~
In summary, Shanghai Ji Hotel (People’s Square Branch) shines with its excellent location and convenient transportation.
