Recommended Shanghai, China Free Travel Itinerary #Day 1😉

Here's a selection of our favorite restaurants and tourist attractions in Shanghai!

📍Dahuchun
#Dahuchun is a traditional Shanghai dumpling restaurant. It's also listed in the Michelin Guide and is known to be frequented by international celebrities. Their most popular dish is the dumplings, called #shengjian. They're a Shanghai specialty, so I highly recommend trying them!
The dumplings are round and thick-skinned, but they're deep-fried on one side, creating a soft and firm texture. The fillings are either pork or shrimp + pork, and are juicy, like xiaolongbao (steamed pork).
If I had to rate it, I'd give it a 3 out of 5 stars. The meat juices were absorbed into the dumpling skin, so there wasn't much juice 😅 It felt like eating regular dumplings. The Michelin Guide made me curious, so I'm glad I went. Yang's Dumpling is much tastier. Be sure to try it at Yang's :)

📍Nanjing East Road
When you enter the Nanjing East Road Pedestrian Street, Hey Tea welcomes you. Right next door is the Apple Store. When I went, it was raining and foggy, so the tops of the buildings in the distance disappeared into the sky.👀 But the lights reflected on the raindrops on the ground, making for even more beautiful photos.🥰✨ I recommend going just before sunset to capture everything from the bright sky to the sunset. You'll get some truly impressive shots. :)

📍Shinsegae Department Store - Lilian Bakery
There's a direct entrance to the food court at the Shinsegae Department Store in the passageway leading from People's Square Station to the Nanjing East Road Pedestrian Street.
At first, I went to another Shinsegae Department Store on Nanjing East Road and thought, "Hmm? Why didn't I see Lilian Bakery?" 👀 It can be confusing, so do your research carefully. ㅎㅎ...
If you have time, it's worth taking a quick look around the department store. There are quite a few brands that don't have a presence in Korea.
Anyway, the key is #LilianBakery!! One #eggtart, one #cheesetart for 15.6 yuan. The cheese tart had a nice, rich cheese flavor, but after eating the egg tart, it couldn't compare! Haha, it was the best egg tart I've ever had. The chewy texture and the right amount of sweetness... It was seriously so delicious, but I should've bought a whole box. It's just a shame it rained so I didn't have enough. 🥲

📍The Bund & The Bund
#The Bund offers a panoramic view of the Bund's golden streets and the towers of Lujiazui. 😆 This is a must-visit!!
The Bund is only lit from 7pm to 10pm, so it's perfect for exploring during that time and then heading out for dinner👍🏻

📍Lujiazui
Lujiazui is a business district, home to many of Shanghai's major towers. There are many buildings built relatively recently compared to other neighborhoods :)
Shanghai Tower #ParadiseDynasty is the restaurant I've been most excited about since I started planning my trip to Shanghai!! It's a Chinese restaurant based in Singapore, and I still can't forget my first taste there, so I always look for branches whenever I travel abroad 😂 (Since there's none in Seoul yet ㅠㅠ) Since I heard there's one in Shanghai, I visited on my first evening!!
It's located on the 2nd basement level of Shanghai Tower! Google Maps says it's near Jin Mao Tower, so I had a hard time finding it 😭 In China, Apple Maps is more accurate👍🏻
The signature dish is the 8-color #dim sum! It has a variety of flavors, including garlic, truffle, cheese, and crab meat. ㅎㅎ Half of the dishes are delicious, and the other half are not so good. It's a hit or miss affair, so it's a fun meal. 😝

This is how I ended my first day💗
