The Bund river view in Shanghai is the chillest 🌃

Spontaneously rushed to the Bund citywalk near dusk
Rainy day, very atmospheric
No planned route in advance, got overwhelmed by too many guides, so just wandered randomly. But after the tour, I found this route is amazing! No backtracking and very concise, covering all the must-see spots!
✅First stop: Nanjing East Road Metro Station, Exit 2
Right outside is Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street! You can shop and have a meal here around 4 or 5 pm. The Bund lights up only at 6 pm, so arriving early means it might be empty~
✅Second stop: Navigation to the International Architecture Expo Cluster
Personally, I think this is the top recommended spot at the Bund! Opposite here is the Bund Viewing Promenade. On the way, you can see the Oriental Pearl Tower standing tall in the distance through narrow streets, very photogenic! See p2 for reference
✅Third stop: Viewing Promenade
Here you can take photos with the Lujiazui "three-piece set" (Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Tower, Shanghai Tower). The tulips at the Bund are blooming beautifully. There is a spot where you can capture tulips, leaves, and the Oriental Pearl Tower together (too bad I didn’t bring a flash that day, otherwise it would have been an amazing shot! Highly recommend photography enthusiasts to find and check in). If you have a camera, bring a wide-angle lens, otherwise you can’t fit the three-piece set in one shot (I didn’t have one and was so frustrated…)
✅Fourth stop: I suggest going straight to Waibaidu Bridge
Walk to the end of the Viewing Promenade to reach Waibaidu Bridge. At the end of the bridge, you can get a close-up group shot of the three-piece set. You can also take some moody portraits on the bridge, very relaxed and classy!
✅Fifth stop: Zhapu Road Bridge
This is my second recommended spot. Don’t miss a nighttime stroll along the Suzhou Creek!!! It’s wonderful. The vibe here is completely different from the bustling architecture cluster—quiet, cozy, and very romantic. You really must come!!! From the bridge, you can also capture the three-piece set and the monument together, see p3
✅Sixth stop: Shanghai Postal Museum
Similar vibe to the architecture cluster. Not sure if it’s open for visits during the day. It looks very beautiful when framed together with Zhapu Road Bridge
Finally, return from Tiantong Road Metro Station, no backtracking~
Ps: I also went to Shamei Building and Yifeng Bund Source, but personally found nothing special and no highlights, plus it requires backtracking, so I don’t really recommend going. I didn’t visit the Peace Hotel, so I can’t give advice on that~
The whole walk takes about one to two hours. I carried my camera in the rain and it wasn’t too tiring. Make sure to finish before 10 pm because the lights turn off after 10!
If you have any other recommended spots, please let me know! I’ll review them for you on the weekend! All photos were taken at the Bund last weekend evening. Let me see your Bund photos!
