🇨🇳 Shanghai & Hangzhou 8D7N Free & Easy Itinerary

Travel period: 23/3 – 30/3/2024

Day 1 – KL → Hangzhou
Evening arrival in Hangzhou.

Day 2 – West Lake Day Trip (Hangzhou)
Started with Liulangwenying and took a boat from Qianwang Temple Pier → Three Pools Mirroring the Moon (🎫 RM36.03). Also visited Leifeng Pagoda.
West Lake is huge, recommend taking an electric car if walking gets tiring 🛺.
Evening stroll at Hubin Pedestrian Street (near West Lake).
Dinner at Green Tea Restaurant — highly recommended, so delicious 🤤.

Day 3 – Wuzhen Day Trip
Train from Hangzhou East → Tongxiang (17 mins), then Didi (~1 hr) to Wuzhen Xizha (🎫 RM91.6).
Lunch at Grandma’s House Restaurant, nice local flavors.
Stayed until night to enjoy the illuminated scenery, then returned to Hangzhou.

Day 4 – Hangzhou → Shanghai
Morning at Southern Song Imperial Street & Hefang Street, plus Drum Tower.
Tried the dessert Jiao Tian Cheng 🍧.
Took the high-speed train from Hangzhou East → Shanghai Hongqiao (1 hr).
Checked into hotel near Nanjing East Road — very convenient!
Explored Wukang Road → Anfu Road, then Yu Garden & City God Temple (day + night view).
Dinner at Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant 🥟.
Ended the night at The Bund for the iconic skyline.

Day 5 – Shanghai Disneyland 🏰
Went early with Early Entry Pass — worth it to cover more rides.
My top 3 must-try rides:
TRON Lightcycle Power Run
Camp Discovery Challenge Trails
Soaring Over the Horizon 🎢
Ended the day with the fireworks show 🎆 — magical as always.

Day 6 – Suzhou Day Trip
Train from Shanghai → Suzhou (30 mins).
Morning at Suzhou Museum (free entry, advance booking required).
Visited Humble Administrator’s Garden (🎫 RM46.07).
Lunch at Xieshenbao.
Afternoon at Pingjiang Road & Guanqian Street, evening at Shantang Street (Qili Shantang) with dinner & night views.
Returned to Shanghai by train.

Day 7 – Shanghai City Walk
Morning at Oriental Pearl Tower, explored different viewpoints.
Lunch at Xiao Yang Sheng Jian.
Afternoon at Tianzifang & Xintiandi, also visited Starbucks Reserve Roastery Shanghai ☕️.
Evening sunset at North Bund — less crowded than The Bund, highly recommended 🏙️.
Dinner at Hen Jiu Yi Qian (Lamb Skewers) — one of the best meals of the trip!

Day 8 – Shanghai → KL
Final morning walk at Yuanmingyuan Road & The Bund.
Afternoon flight home 🛬.

✨ Tips & Highlights:
✅High-speed trains make city-hopping very convenient (Hangzhou–Shanghai–Suzhou).
✅Get transport passes (metro/day passes) for both Hangzhou & Shanghai to save time and money.
✅Must-try restaurants: Green Tea Restaurant (Hangzhou), Nanxiang Steamed Bun, Xiao Yang Sheng Jian, Hen Jiu Yi Qian.
✅North Bund is a hidden gem for sunset views without the big crowds.
✅For Disneyland, the Early Entry Pass is worth every cent if you want to ride the most popular attractions.
