Shop Like a Local🛍️

Shanghai & Beijing are playgrounds for foodies and shopaholics — here's my shortlist for serious retail therapy and next-level eats 😋🛍️

Top Spots to Visit in Shanghai:
1. Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street (Henan Middle Road, Huangpu District, open all day): Head here for major vibes and scores! Hunt souvenirs at the HBAF and M&Ms megastores (trust me, M&Ms here make awesome gifts).
2. Haus Nowhere (Xintiandi area): This chic spot combines Gentle Monster (the Korean eyewear icon), Tamburins (fragrances/skincare), plus a photogenic cafe for espresso breaks with design cred.
3. Xintiandi (6-7, Lane 123, Xingye Road, Huangpu District, open all day): Loads of stylish cafes make this open-air historic quarter perfect for a laid-back stroll and coffee crawl.
4. Da Dong (IAPM, L6, No.999 Huaihai Zhong Lu): For upscale Beijing roast duck and innovative Chinese cuisine — reservations advised!
5. BAO LI XUAN (Near 108, Shanxi Bei Lu, inside Shanghai Bvlgari Hotel): Michelin-starred modern Cantonese delivered in pure luxury — try dim sum here for a splurge lunch.

Tips for Ultimate Shanghai Efficiency:
Shop early — Nanjing Road gets packed later in the day, so beat the crowds for best browsing and photos.
Get cashless: Almost everything works with AliPay/WeChat Pay, so prep your mobile wallet (foreign cards might not work everywhere).
Subway > taxi: Shanghai’s metro is cheap, fast, and clean. All the above spots are walkable from Line 1, 10 or 13 stations.

Where to Eat:
Don’t skip Da Dong or BAO LI XUAN, but also look for hole-in-the-wall dumpling shops near Xintiandi for top local flavors without breaking the bank.
