When it comes to one of the most important and beautiful temples in Shanghai, Longhua Temple (龙华寺 / Longhua Temple) is definitely at the top of the list. 🌸 This temple is considered the oldest Buddhist temple in Shanghai, with a history of over 1,700 years. It was built during the Three Kingdoms period (Wu, Dongwu, and other periods) and remains remarkably well preserved.

🌿 Temple Atmosphere
As soon as you enter through the main gate, you'll immediately feel the tranquility and mysticism of the place. The aroma of incense fills the air, and the temple bells ring out slowly, creating a profound sense of peace. 🕊️
Inside the temple grounds is the Longhua Pagoda, a seven-story pagoda that is a symbol of the temple and of Shanghai. The pagoda is incredibly ancient, over a thousand years old, and while it's not open for climbing, just standing there and admiring it exudes grandeur and sacredness.
