Chen Family Courtyard in Shangqiu, Henan

Built in the late Ming Dynasty, the Chen Family Courtyard in Shangqiu is comparable to a prince's mansion. It is the first of the seven major families in Shangqiu, mainly composed of Siheyuan, with courtyards connected to each other.
During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the city of Guide Prefecture in Henan Province saw the emergence of many prominent families, including the "Eight Great Families (Shen, Song, Hou, Ye, Yu, Liu, Gao, Yang)" and the "Seven Major Families (Chen, Cai, Mu, Chai, Shang, Meng, Hu)," with the Chen family ranking first among the "Seven Major Families."
