The colorful forests of Balagezong reflect in the clear waters, with mulberry smoke curling around the ancient village

When the winds of Shangri-La turn golden, Balagezong becomes a "secret autumn realm" hidden in the Hengduan Mountains. The autumn scenery here is "three-dimensional," stretching from the emerald waters of the 2,000-meter-high canyon to the 4,250-meter-high snowy mountain with a Buddhist stupa. Red maples, yellow birches, and green pines intertwine like a spilled palette of paint. Autumn temperatures stay between 10–18°C, warm during the day and comfortable for sleeping at night. Avoiding the peak tourist season, whether hiking the canyon or quietly sitting in the ancient village, you can enjoy the tranquility of Tibetan land. The natural snowy mountain stupa at 4,250 meters is the soul of Balagezong. The autumn sky is clear blue, the snow mountain pure white, sharply contrasting with the yellowing meadows—every snapshot is wallpaper-worthy. Along the 2.5-kilometer plank road, the canyon trees shift from lush green to orange-red and golden yellow, reflected in the emerald Gangqu River like a flowing oil painting. When tired, take a canyon drift ride and watch the colorful forests on both banks recede; every photo has a "cinematic feel." The secluded ancient village at 2,900 meters is surrounded by golden trees around traditional Tibetan watchtowers, with morning cooking smoke and evening snow mountain afterglow. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the village and watch the autumn light spill through the window panes—time slows down. Come to Balagezong and experience this autumn feast; miss it and you'll have to wait another year!
