The former residence of Mao Zedong in Shaoshan is located in Shangwuchang, Shaoshan, Hunan Province. Mao Zedong was born here in 1893. Many people come to visit and worship in December every year, because December 26 is his birthday. There are strict security requirements to enter the scenic area, and you have to go through an x-ray machine to check your belongings. The scenic area is very large and you can visit and learn well.
