The Xisha Islands (also known as the Paracel Islands), one of the four major archipelagos in the South China Sea, comprise the Yongle and Xuande Islands. They are the largest archipelago in the South China Sea by land area. Spread over 500,000 square kilometers, the Xisha Islands comprise 22 islands, seven sandbars, eight atolls, one platform reef, and one submerged reef beach. The total land area is approximately 10 square kilometers, with a coastline of 518 kilometers. The Xisha Islands have long been a sacred and inviolable territory of China, with names such as Jiuru Luozhou (Stone), Qizhou (Ocean), Changsha, and Qianli Changsha. Historically, some islands have been repeatedly occupied by other countries.
The Xisha Islands are one of my country's renowned fishing grounds. With its vast waters and numerous islands and reefs, the islands offer a rich variety of seafood, including rare species. Every year, they attract a large number of fishermen from around the world. With its beautiful scenery and abundant resources, it's an excellent choice for ordinary tourists, who also have the opportunity to experience the charm of sea fishing.
The winter monsoon period is from October to February of the following year, which is mainly affected by the northeast monsoon and has a prevailing northerly airflow.
The summer monsoon season, from April to September, is primarily influenced by the southwest monsoon, with southerly air currents prevailing. The Xisha Islands' climate is characterized by high temperatures and humidity, strong convection, abundant precipitation, and distinct dry and wet seasons.
Recommended time: November to March is the best time, as there are fewer storms.
