When visiting Shaoxing, you must visit Lu Xun's hometown!
This is where the literary giant Mr. Lu Xun grew up. Lu Xun's ancestral home, Three Flavors Study, and Hundred Herbs Garden - every brick and tile is filled with stories!
Walking here, those lessons from Chinese textbooks we learned as children, from the Hundred Herbs Garden to the Three Flavors Study, come alive! It truly feels like traveling through time!
🏠Lu Xun's Former Residence
Lu Xun's former residence is where Mr. Lu Xun was born and raised. Upon entering, it's like traveling back a hundred years. The architecture is elegantly antique and very well preserved! It's also a classic example of traditional Chinese residential design and layout!
You can see the desk that Mr. Lu Xun once used, along with other old items full of historical traces!
It's as if you can feel the scene of the master writing tirelessly, truly experiencing the master's life up close!
📖Three Flavors Study
The Three Flavors Study is where Mr. Lu Xun received his education. This is a model of traditional Chinese private schools, where Lu Xun once studied!
The desks and chairs remain as they were back then, with paintings of pine trees and deer hanging on the walls! Even the desk and chair used by Mr. Lu Xun are well preserved, along with the impressive character for "early"!
🌿Hundred Herbs Garden
The Hundred Herbs Garden was Mr. Lu Xun's childhood playground and the inspiration for many of his literary works!
With the passage of time, some plants may not be original, but the replanted ones are highly authentic! Walking through it, you can almost feel the joy and freedom of the master's childhood!
🌳Tips:
1. It's recommended to come early in the morning when there are fewer people for a better experience. Otherwise, even the entrance scene of Mr. Lu Xun lighting a cigarette will be crowded!
2. You can rent an audio guide to learn more about the stories of each attraction.
3. There are many specialty snacks nearby worth trying! Highly recommend the Kong Yiji fennel beans at the exit of Lu Xun's former residence - they're delicious!
4. There's a cultural creative shop at the exit of the former residence with many books about Mr. Lu Xun and Shaoxing. They're excellent, and you might want to browse through them!
Lu Xun's hometown in Shaoxing is not just a tourist attraction, but also a place to pay homage to a historical figure and have a close encounter and dialogue with the literary giant Mr. Lu Xun! Here, your heart feels nourished! Don't miss it!
