Shaoxing Dongpu Ancient Town - Yellow Wine Town
Hua Diao wine is a premium Shaoxing yellow wine, named after the Shaoxing custom of storing fine wine in colorful wine jars as dowry gifts. It is also known as Hua Diao in the provincial sense. Hua Diao wine is a type of yellow wine and a traditional Chinese specialty. Yue wine is renowned worldwide, and Dongpu wine is the best. Shaoxing Yellow Wine Town boasts a history of over 1,600 years.
Step into Shaoxing's thousand-year-old rice wine town for an intoxicatingly beautiful encounter: sparkling rivers, lakes, and harbors, smoke-shrouded Ming and Qing dynasty bridges, old gatehouses with whitewashed walls and black tiles, and leisurely swaying black-sailed boats. Wine jars, wine pots, presses, and other winemaking utensils can be found everywhere in the streets and alleys and courtyards of ordinary homes. This rich wine culture creates a unique picture of life in Shaoxing's rice wine town.
