Sizhai Village is located in the southeast of Zhuji, at the western foot of Kuaiji Mountain. It is an ancient village full of historical and cultural charm.

Transportation Guide

- Self-driving: About 1.5 hours from Hangzhou, about 1.5 hours from Shaoxing city center. Navigate to "Qianzhuwu" for easy parking.
- Public transportation: Take the "Zhuji 102A/102D/102G" bus from Zhuji city center. You can also get off at Zhuji Station and take a 30-minute taxi ride directly, costing about 50 yuan.

Tickets and Opening Hours

- Tickets: 35 yuan, including three major attractions: Qianzhuwu, Huaguogong Villa, and the Small Western-style House. Other ancient buildings are free.
- Opening hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Must-Visit Attractions

- Qianzhuwu: Also known as Sisheng Residence, built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. It has 118 rooms and 132 alleys, named for its nearly one thousand pillars. The plaque above the door is engraved with the four characters "Yu Si Wei Sheng," and the main hall’s wall features a rare brick carving of the "Hundred Horses."
- Bifeng Study House: A private school for the descendants of the Siyi Confucian scholars. It can be reached by climbing the ancient cobblestone path behind the back door of Qianzhuwu. The study house is built along the mountain terrain with staggered heights, and the courtyards and paths inside and outside are paved entirely with cobblestones.
- Small Western-style House: Built in 1920, designed by foreign experts in a blend of Chinese and Western styles. Eileen Chang once lived here and wrote about it in "Foreign Land Notes."
- Huaguogong Villa: A Qing Dynasty building that served as both a school and family temple, built along the mountain. There is a pond in front of the hall, and the central hall "Sicheng Hall" preserves Qing Dynasty imperial examination success announcements.

Qianzhuwu (ticket office) → Bifeng Academy → Shangxinwu → Faxiangju → Leshan Haoshi Archway → Xintanjia → Qipan Street → Simin Primary School → Small Western-style House → Huaguogong Villa.

- Tangyang: Thick-cut red bean paste Tangyang, sticky and slightly sweet without being greasy.
