Enjoying winter in Shiretoko, a World Natural Heritage Site in Hokkaido❗️
I played with deer at Furepe Falls, one of the Eight Scenic Views of Shiretoko!
Furepe Falls is about a 20-minute walk from the Shiretoko Nature Center!
*It's quite far, so it's better to walk with plenty of time for the bus❗️
✅Furepe Falls
This waterfall is not made by a river, but by rain and snow that falls on the Shiretoko Mountain Range, which seeps into the ground and trickles down through the cracks.
Because of this, it looks like tears as it falls little by little, so it's also called ✅maiden's tears
This time, I went in winter, so I walked wearing ✅snowshoes
to prevent my feet from sinking in the deep snow!
Because of this, it took longer than usual
And this is Shiretoko, a World Natural Heritage Site.
There were deer 🦌 wandering around lol
Oh! Of course, this is a habitat for brown bears, so don't forget to make noise and shout as you go❗️
