Yangchan Tulou

This stop takes you to the secret realm of Huizhou—Yangchan Tulou in Shexian County! Here, you can find the most authentic Huizhou-style architectural complex, with over 300 tulou buildings built layer upon layer along the mountainside.

🚶‍♀️Must-visit
1️⃣【Ancient Village Stroll】Most villagers are elderly left behind; at this season, the sight of corn drying adds a lively touch. You can pay 30 yuan to hire a local elder as a guide. They will take you to several photo spots and share many interesting stories📖 It is said the village was founded by a couple from Henan who fled here to escape war. The village is small, and a round trip takes about an hour.
2️⃣【Earthen Old Houses】Be sure to visit a villager’s home! I went to 78-year-old Grandpa Zheng’s house to eat corn🌽, which tasted great (four ears of corn, voluntarily paid 30 yuan).

📌Useful tips:
· It is recommended to wear non-slip shoes! The mountain path is all bluestone steps, which can be slippery when wet.
· There are no commercial shops in the village, so remember to bring your own water and snacks.
· If you want to photograph the autumn drying scenes, it is best to visit between September and November.

🚌Transportation guide:
· Drive to the village entrance at the foot of the mountain
· Then take a shuttle bus up the mountain (round trip 30 yuan/person)
