This is Qingtankeng in Shengzhou, Shaoxing. It's still a relatively niche destination (though it's becoming more popular this year). If you follow the hiking route we designed, you'll hardly see anyone along the way. Most people gather around the reservoir and village, but few venture up the mountain behind the village.
Visit now before it becomes too popular! You won't be disappointed.
🔍 Why are there so many cherry blossoms here? Growing cherry blossom saplings is the main source of income for the villagers, and it has unexpectedly created a beautiful rural landscape.
The cherry blossoms here are Somei Yoshino, which bloom from mid to late March. They are light pink, very elegant, and pleasing to the eye.
🏠 Location: Qingtankeng Village, Jinting Town, Shengzhou. Navigate directly.
♥️ Route suggestions:
1. Enter from Shengzhou: Follow the route from Gangzhushan Village to Qingtankeng Village to Dongjiazhuang to Wangkewan.
2. Enter from Ningbo: Enter the mountains from Xikou Town, head towards Shengzhou via Mingxi. The order of villages is: Wangkewan, Dongjiazhuang, Qingtankeng, Gangzhushan.
‼️‼️ Of course, you can also join us. We'll have a guide to lead the way and help take photos. It's a one-day round trip, with a 5 km light hiking route, which is the best route for viewing cherry blossoms. We'll also take you to try Shengzhou snacks.
👉 Notes:
There are currently no farmhouses or homestays in the village, but there are small stalls. I personally recommend going to Huangze Town, the birthplace of tofu dumplings.
