🌸Shenyang in Spring:From Blossoms to Banchan

We started our day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel — warm soy milk, fluffy buns, and comforting local dishes that gave us the energy to explore.

Our first stop was Xiao Nan Men Church (小南门教堂). Tucked away in the city, this historical site offered a peaceful moment to pause and reflect amidst its elegant, old-world charm.

Next, we headed to the beautiful Beiling Park (北陵公园) — and it didn’t disappoint. Spring had painted the park in pastel colors with cherry blossoms and peonies in full bloom. The weather was just perfect — sunny, but comfortably cool.

📌 Travel Tip: The park is huge! If you're visiting with elderly family members or simply want to conserve your energy, hop on the sightseeing buggy (观光车) for RMB 10 per person. Otherwise, a leisurely walk offers countless photo-worthy moments.

By noon, our steps led us to Xita Street (西塔街) — a vibrant Korean cultural enclave in Shenyang. The air was filled with the aroma of grilled meats and fermented spice. We enjoyed a delicious signature grilled eel, perfectly charred and tender, along with an array of authentic Korean side dishes, spicy stews, and fresh kimchi.

🍶 We also tried traditional Korean rice wine (米酒) — lightly sweet, smooth, and a wonderful surprise!

After lunch, we continued exploring Xita Street, popping into shops selling Korean snacks, beauty products, and unique souvenirs. The mix of cultures and languages made it feel like we’d stepped into another world — right in the heart of Shenyang.
