Qixing Mountain Scenic Area is located in Shifosi Township, Xinchengzi District, Shenyang City. Since ancient times, it has been praised for its beauty: "The shadow of a tower is far away in the thick mountain fog, and the sound of a flute is clear and cool in the breeze."

It is nestled against the Liao River and borders Shenyang to the south. The Shenming Highway runs through the area, right next to the edge of the scenic area. It is 30 kilometers south of Shenyang, 14 kilometers east of Xinchengzi District, and faces Xinmin City and Faku County across the river to the west and north.

The scenic area has beautiful natural scenery and a superior environment. Qixing Mountain was formed in the late Jurassic period and consists of seven peaks including Nanshan and Tashan.

The scenic area is named after its mountain shape which resembles the shape of the Big Dipper.

The mountains are crisscrossed with ravines and gullies, with layers of verdant landscapes. There are over twenty ravines, including Fox Valley.
