Looking for more tombs? Have you already visited the Zhaoling Mausoleum and are you now visiting the Fuling Mausoleum?

The Qing Fuling Mausoleum, located at 210 Dongling East Street, Hunnan District, Shenyang, Liaoning Province, is the mausoleum of Nurhaci, the founding emperor of the Qing Dynasty, and his empress. Because it sits east of the city's suburbs, it's also known as the Eastern Mausoleum. It's one of the Three Mausoleums of Shengjing.

Because of its suburban location, transportation is less convenient, perhaps for this reason it attracts fewer visitors. It's also much smaller than the Qing Zhaoling Mausoleum. I suspect the construction techniques used are similar.

The outer and inner walls of the Qing Fuling Mausoleum consist of a front courtyard, a square city, and a treasure city, arranged symmetrically around the sacred path. It features a stone memorial archway, a main red gate, stone statues, and more. Compared to the Qing Zhaoling Mausoleum, it has a "one hundred and eighteen steps" (see photo). You can now walk up and around the top of the mausoleum, where you can also see the entrance to the legendary underground palace. Admission is ¥30.
