Maluan Bay is located in the eastern part of Dongshan Island, Fujian Province, two kilometers from Tongling Town. It is a masterpiece of nature. Maluan Bay is called Maluan Bay because there is a village called Maluan on the bay.
Malua Village is called Malua Village because it was given the name by the last emperor of the Southern Song Dynasty. Strange! How could a tiny village so far from the capital have such good fortune to have its name chosen by the "Son of Heaven"? It turns out that the Song Emperor, fleeing south, passed through the area and begged for the name. People blocked the road for their horses, so the name "Lanma" was born. Then it was changed to "Malan" and finally "Maluan."
Along Dongshan Island's southeastern coast lie seven bays: Nanmen Bay, Yunan Bay, Maluan Bay, Jinluan Bay, Wujiao Bay, Aojiao Bay, and Gongqian Bay. These crescent-shaped bays, connected end to end, stretch for over 30 kilometers. The pristine white sandy beaches, backed by lush forests and surrounded by clear waters, create a natural bathing beach.
