Xin'an Ancient City, also known as Nantou Ancient City, Nantou City, and Jiujie Village by locals

Since the establishment of Dongguan County in the sixth year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (331 AD), it has a history of nearly 1,700 years. It was the seat of Bao'an County Government before the establishment of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. It is known as the "root of Shenzhen and Hong Kong's history and culture", "the capital of eastern Guangdong, and the source of Hong Kong and Macao". It is the origin of Shenzhen City. Nantou Ancient City bears witness to the "migration and return" of Shenzhen Center.

The main buildings include the ancient city wall, the county government office, the Xin'an Prison, the Dongguan Guild Hall, the opium den, the Juxiu Tower, the Infant Orphanage, the Guandi Temple, the Wen Tianxiang Temple, the Xin Guogong Wengong Temple, and the Jiefang Nei Lingding Monument.

The former site of the Bao'an County Government in the ancient city is now the Nantou Ancient City Museum, which displays the history of Shenzhen's founding.

In 1988, Nantou Ancient City was announced as a cultural relic protection unit in Shenzhen.

In 2018, Nantou Ancient Town was listed as one of the "Top Ten Characteristic Cultural Blocks in Shenzhen".

Nantou Old Town has been actively developing in recent years, promoting the integration of young brands and fashion trends into the old town, integrating cultural creativity, fashion, art, special dining and leisure.
