Today, I took advantage of my break to visit the unique and historic Hakka ancient village "Da Wan Shi Jia" in Pingshan District, Shenzhen❤️🗺️
📜Shenzhen Dawanshiju Hakka Ancient Village, also known as "Dawanwei", is located in Pingshan District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. It is one of the top ten Hakka ancient villages in Shenzhen. It has a profound Hakka cultural connotation and is very suitable for friends who like history and culture to come and visit~
Attractions 💞Recommended reasons:
✨Unique architectural style
The architectural style of Da Wan Shi Ju is unique. It is a typical castle-style Hakka walled house with watchtowers built on the four corners, connected by high walls with corridors on the walls for defense purposes. The entire walled house is well connected, symmetrical along the left and right central axes, and square. The Hakka walled houses in the village are well preserved. The wood carvings, stone carvings, murals and other decorations inside the houses are exquisitely crafted and lifelike, showcasing the history and artistic culture of the Hakka people.
✨Rich historical background
Da Wan Shi Ju was built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. It was founded by Zeng Duanyi, the ancestor of the Zeng family of Hakka, in the 56th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty. It has a history of more than 200 years and is large in scale. More than 400 houses are completely preserved in the village. They still stand solemnly, simple and thick. It is one of the largest and best-preserved square Hakka walled villages in the country. It carries the history and culture of the Hakka in Shenzhen. Visitors can learn about the development of Hakka culture in the Qing Dynasty.
✨Natural and beautiful environment
Although there is no air conditioning and background music like in high-rise buildings, you can enjoy the quiet natural environment, which is quite unique.
✨Diversity of exhibitions
There are abundant tourist attractions here, where you can not only learn about Hakka history, culture, folk customs and architectural art, but also enjoy Hakka traditional song and dance performances and experience Hakka traditional handicrafts.
