Stunning Ocean View Executive Lounge! Breakfast with à la carte menu

The executive lounge at Shenzhen Shekou Hilton is located on the 15th floor (sub-top level) of the Ocean View Wing, offering excellent views with many window-side seats overlooking the sea. However, it still falls slightly short compared to the suite I stayed in this time, as there's no balcony.

The lounge is now open all day, serving breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening happy hour. It's one of the rare Hiltons that offers lounge breakfast. The biggest advantages of lounge breakfast are the peaceful atmosphere with fewer people, great views, and various soft drinks not available downstairs, such as Evian sparkling water – while Evian itself isn't particularly tasty or expensive, the carbonation does improve it somewhat. The commercial coffee machine in the lounge is also quite good, producing dense milk foam like little cream hills. Even having several cups of vanilla-flavored coffee won't feel overwhelming.

The lounge also features an à la carte menu, offering several egg dishes including Eggs Benedict and wonton noodles not available downstairs. However, the presentation leaves much to be desired – the dishes look rather plain with minimal garnishing, and both the noodles and eggs lack visual appeal with mediocre taste. Other dishes are basically the same as those served downstairs, likely pre-prepared and portioned, though with less variety. Therefore, I'd recommend having breakfast downstairs first, then coming up to the lounge for drinks, coffee, and fruits to finish.

I missed afternoon tea due to late check-in, but it should include sweet and savory pastries along with fruits. The happy hour was decent, featuring hot dishes like roasted chicken, chicken wrapped in bamboo leaves, and stir-fried pork neck with celery. For mains, there were seafood fried pasta and cured meat fried rice – I initially thought it was scallops but realized it was squid after the first bite.

Other items like cold cuts, sushi, cheese, and fruits were standard fare. You can definitely get full if you're not picky.

Overall, the lounge offers nice views (especially better for guests staying in the South Ocean Wing), good service, and long operating hours. Although it provides breakfast and an à la carte menu, the overall quality hasn't broken through Hilton's typical standards.
