The Bear Hotel in Shenzhen's Nantou Ancient Town features a design centered on a light industrial style, skillfully blending the historical essence of the ancient town with modern minimalist aesthetics. The exterior walls use warm gray concrete and large glass panels, showcasing the rugged texture of industrial design while incorporating elements of ancient town blue bricks to add cultural warmth.
The lobby is spacious, with exposed steel beams and wooden decorations complementing each other. Vintage chandeliers and metal ornaments create a subtle yet refined atmosphere. The guest rooms continue the light industrial theme, with cement-patterned walls contrasting sharply with warm wooden furniture, while smart devices enhance modern comfort.
Some room types offer views of the ancient town's nightscape, adding a romantic touch. The hotel courtyard is adorned with ironwork and greenery, while painted walls incorporate local cultural symbols, presenting a visual impact that combines ruggedness and delicacy.
Photography is a highlight of this trip. The hotel's vintage lobby, artistic painted walls, and outdoor courtyard are perfect for capturing stunning shots, especially with the ancient town's silhouette illuminated at night, creating Instagram-worthy photos effortlessly. Stepping out of the hotel, the surrounding Nantou Ancient Town cultural and artistic district is a must-visit. It preserves ancient architectural clusters from the Ming and Qing dynasties, with winding bluestone paths and ancient city walls narrating history.
The district is home to creative markets, independent bookstores, craft workshops, and artistic cafes. Strolling through, you can experience the tranquility of the ancient town while enjoying the collision of modern trends. At night, the district comes alive with bright lights, street food stalls, and bars lighting up the streets, perfect for sharing relaxed moments with friends.
