Shenzhen's classic landmark teams up with the trendy Renaissance brand for an ultra-charming experience

🏨 Shenzhen Pengnian Hotel has always attracted attention due to the many good deeds of its investor, Mr. Yu Pengnian. Especially for the "old Shenzhen" residents who have lived here for many years, Pengnian Hotel has long gone viral and is considered one of Shenzhen's legends πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡

🏨 Shenzhen Pengnian Renaissance Hotel underwent a major renovation a year ago and was rebranded under Marriott's Renaissance brand, bringing it back onto my hotel check-in list. I have had limited experience with Renaissance hotels so far, having only fully stayed at the Haikou Renaissance and Hong Kong Harbour Renaissance, and I really like their black base color. The Renaissance brand’s distinctive keywords like exploration, navigator, and NightΒ·Renaissance deeply resonate with me ❀️❀️❀️

🏨 The hotel is very easy to reach, less than a 10-minute walk from Guomao Metro Station, and about a 10-minute walk from Shenzhen Railway Station. The surrounding commercial facilities are excellent, with malls, eateries, and bars all around, covering a wide range of prices and styles. Whether you want an affordable, down-to-earth Shenzhen experience or a high-end luxurious one, both are πŸ‰‘πŸ‰‘πŸ‰‘

🏨 The hotel lobby is very artistic. The mural behind the front desk features a striking blue Shenzhen River, perfectly illustrating the rich heritage of the Luohu District where the hotel is located. The balloon installation in the lobby bar lights up at night, creating a dreamy atmosphere and making for great photos 🎈🎈🎈

🏨 The hotel operates four restaurants: the lobby bar, the all-day dining "Ignite," the rooftop rotating restaurant Cloud View Pavilion, and the executive lounge. Each is bursting with design flair, especially the rooftop Cloud View Pavilion, which is a must-visit spot for every Shenzhen local and visitor πŸ“ΈπŸ“ΈπŸ“Έ

🏨 If you want to find traces of the old Pengnian Hotel within the hotel, the gym, outdoor pool, and elevators are the best places. The rest shows no signs of the old hotel, as the building has been renovated. The blend of old and new is perfectly balanced here, making the hotel exploration more interesting for guests πŸ†’πŸ†’πŸ†’

🏨 The exquisitely compact room size and traditional-style windows are among the few old hotel elements in the rooms. Other features follow the Renaissance brand standards, with all basic rooms equipped with bathtubs. The ARGUS amenities exclusive to Renaissance are both visually appealing and effective πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

🏨 Although there are quite a few Renaissance hotels in China, few combine old and new elements with such unique charm as Shenzhen Pengnian Renaissance. The room rates are also very reasonable, starting at 650 RMB per night. Travelers who enjoy exploring hotels with deep character and charm should definitely not miss this one πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―
