Pineapple Hill in Shenzhen|Chasing a City Sunset with the Kids

First time here, the kid was still in my belly.
Second time, he had already accompanied us on six or seven mountain hikes as a newbie outdoorsman.
Some places are meaningful not because of the scenery itself, but because of the journey taken together.

Sharing this family-friendly light hiking route by the sea in Shenzhen.
The elevation is under 400 meters, and it takes just 1 hour to reach the summit.
To the east of the summit is the leisurely Dameisha Beach.
To the west is the busy container terminal.
After reaching the top, descend with the glow of the setting sun.
The evening breeze adds a touch of comfort to an ordinary day.

📍 Hiking Guide
▪️ Navigation: Pineapple Hill
▪️ Driving: Navigate to “Banshan Seaview Park” parking lot, then walk 5 minutes to the trailhead
▪️ Public Transit: Line 8 Yantian Port West Exit A1 → take M196 to “Zhongxing Development Station” → walk 20 minutes uphill

⭐ Travel Tips
The view at the summit is average; walk another 200 meters forward to “Fengsheng Post” for the best scenery.
If taking the bus down without retracing your steps, head toward “Zhengjiao Post” where there are 5 viewing platforms. The last stop, “Xiafei Terrace,” is highly recommended.

Regarding traveling with kids, my biggest takeaway is: gear is more important than the route.
Every time I go out with the child, I have the “three classic” anxieties:
❶ Too many things to carry and can’t finish packing
❷ Digging through the bag feels like unboxing a mystery box
❸ Either my hands are full or I’m carrying a backpack like a mountain porter

Until I got this tactical-style 3-in-1 softshell jacket (the same one as Zhang Yi’s 😎), I truly experienced the joy of “light travel”:
🤙 So many pockets it’s like carrying a mini warehouse: water bottle, tissues, snacks, wet wipes all neatly organized and easy to grab.
✅ Smooth one-handed zipper: when pushing the stroller, one hand steadies the child, the other operates the zipper effortlessly.
💦 Windproof, waterproof, and warm: no need to layer up against the sea breeze, much lighter and more comfortable.

Going out with kids is no longer just “adults’ hiking,” but a daily adventure the whole family can enjoy. On the way down, the kid fell asleep in the carrier. Suddenly I realized, these seemingly ordinary weekend moments are the memories most worth cherishing.
