Shikoku captivated me with its peaceful landscapes and profound energy. From the misty peaks of Iya Valley to the calm shores of Kochi, every corner felt untouched and spiritually rich. I explored parts of the 88-temple pilgrimage, where ancient shrines nestled within forests provided moments of introspection. The locals were warm and hospitable, sharing stories over bowls of udon and fresh seafood. Matsuyama Castle and Ritsurin Garden brought a touch of elegance to the journey. Shikoku isn’t ostentatious; it’s poetic—a place where nature, tradition, and kindness harmonize. It’s Japan’s hidden treasure, waiting to be uncovered one quiet step at a time.
