Yilóng Lake has a circumference of 150 li, a water surface area of 39 square kilometers, an average water depth of 2 meters, a maximum depth of about 7 meters, and a water storage capacity of about 100 million cubic meters. Yilóng Lake is the smallest of the nine lakes in Yunnan. Its mouth is in the east, called Hukou River, and is located in Xinjie. There is a water-blocking pavilion built on the river, and the buildings are exquisite and unique. The glazed tiles sparkle. The Hukou River flows eastward through Jianshui, meets the Kuangye River to become the Lujiang River, and then merges with the Nanpan River into the Pearl River. In midsummer, the lotus flowers in the lake compete with each other in beauty and fragrance, attracting many tourists to visit. The lotus has become an indispensable and important tourist resource in Shiping County.
