Chizhou Shitai is truly an underrated gem of a town! No wonder Li Bai visited five times and wrote several poems praising it!
Spent a weekend checking out West Huangshan Rafting, Guniujiang, and Pingtianhu Sky Road – my kid already wants to go back next week!
Today’s Guniujiang highlights:
Perfect mix of mountain hiking and water play. Lush greenery with centuries-old trees provides shade throughout most of the scenic area – never feels too hot.
Dramatic cliffs paired with waterfalls create breathtaking views.
Best part? The crystal-clear shallow pools – absolutely ideal for kids to splash around!
Ticket: 90 RMB/person (plus 18 RMB for round-trip shuttle, recommend using Chizhou Cultural Tourism Annual Card)
Lazy route (no climbing):
Two routes start from the shuttle stop – left or right.
Left route:
Longmen Pool → Quanshan Bridge → Biyu Pool
Features incredibly clear "glass water" perfect for swimming (Quanshan Bridge's pool has ideal depth). Return same way after Biyu Pool.
Right route:
Shigong Bridge → Yanjia Village → Yuanyang Pool → Four-Tiered Waterfall → Return
More shallow areas and waterfalls – great balance of sightseeing and water play.
(Perfect for families with kids – covers most highlights without strenuous hiking.)
Pro tip: Bring sandals, spare clothes, and water toys – this scenic area is all about water fun!
