Seikenji Temple (the correct name of the temple is Kyogasan Seiken Kokukoku Zen Temple) in Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture is a Rinzai sect temple, and one of the leading temples on the Tokaido road, receiving the patronage of such figures as Ashikaga Takauji and Imagawa Yoshimoto.
Tokugawa Ieyasu also studied under Seikenji Temple's head priest, Taira Sessai, when he was a hostage of the Imagawa clan.
When the JR line opened, the head priest at the time donated the land within the temple to help develop the area, and now you can see the rare sight of a train running through the temple.
