Upon arriving at Shodoshima, drive to Kankakei, which takes about 30 minutes. After visiting Kankakei, continue driving to Olive Park, which takes about 20 minutes.
Shodoshima is located in the Seto Inland Sea and is known for its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. The island features famous olive groves and oil mills, as well as many historic temples and shrines. The warm and pleasant climate of Shodoshima makes it ideal for a driving tour.
Kankakei is one of the most famous attractions on Shodoshima, renowned for its spectacular canyon scenery. The rocky gorge is especially beautiful in autumn when the entire valley is covered in vibrant red leaves, creating a stunning natural painting. You can take a cable car to the top for a panoramic view of Kankakei or explore the trails on foot.
Shodoshima Olive Park is one of Japan's earliest olive cultivation sites, with numerous olive trees and high-quality olive oil production. The park offers various olive-related facilities and activities, such as olive oil making and olive tree planting experiences. Visitors can also purchase fresh olive products and enjoy delicious olive-based cuisine.
