The group sculpture of dam builders is located under the Longhekou Reservoir Dam in Wanfo Lake Scenic Area, Wanfo Lake Town, Shucheng County, Lu'an City, Anhui Province.
The work is based on the memories of the builders at that time and historical data pictures, depicting the heroic sentiments of the Shucheng people who fought against nature and earth to build the artificial dam of the Longhekou Reservoir.
The sculptures are divided into: the "heroic" Iron Girls Team, the "race against time" Youth Commando, the "spirited" Battlefield Team, the "brave" Unicycle Transport Team, the "technical breakthrough" technical staff, and the "united as one" A series of working and life scenes, including the masses tamping the ground and migrant workers "overcoming difficulties". 7 groups of 45 human sculptures are organically combined to vividly reproduce the magnificent labor scenes of that time. Through artistic expression, the work praises the noble qualities of the reservoir builders, conveys the Shucheng people's spirit of seeking truth from facts, spirit of progress, spirit of unity and spirit of dedication, and expresses the high respect for the dam builders. It is a triumphant song that shakes the mountains and rivers.
