Red Houses & Peaceful Minds

#chinatravel Took a trip out to Larung Gar Buddhist Academy in Sertar, Sichuan Province, and honestly? I’m still processing how surreal and peaceful it was. This place is massive, like, a whole hillside covered in tiny red houses where thousands of monks and nuns live and study. It’s wild in the coolest way.
Walking through the winding paths, you really feel the calm and focus in the air. Monks are chanting, people are meditating, and even the wind feels quieter somehow. It’s high up, so yeah, the air’s thin, take it slow, but totally worth the effort.
There’s a viewpoint that lets you see the entire valley, and it’s honestly jaw-dropping. Like something out of a dream. It’s not flashy or touristy, it’s humble, deep, and full of soul.
If you're looking for something way off the usual path that makes you pause and reflect (even if you're not religious), Larung Gar hits different. Peaceful, powerful, and totally unforgettable.
