Hiking Heaven at Daocheng Yading

#chinatravel If you’re dreaming of crazy clear lakes snow capped peaks and the kind of air that makes you wanna take deep dramatic breaths Daocheng Yading in Sichuan is your spot. This place is straight up unreal. It’s like a mix of the Swiss Alps and some kind of peaceful Tibetan dreamland.

We did the hike to Milk Lake and yeah it’s a trek but holy wow was it worth it. The water is this bright turquoise that looks fake and the mountains surrounding it are just massive and silent and kind of magical. Be ready for altitude though it’s no joke so take it slow and drink tons of water.

There’s also prayer flags everywhere which just adds to the whole vibe. It’s peaceful but also epic in that “am I in a movie right now” kind of way. If you’re in Sichuan and you like hiking or just standing around in awe for hours this place will absolutely blow your mind.
