#cambodiatrip A Lush Jungle Journey at Preah Khan Temple 🌿🏯✨
Preah Khan Temple in Siem Reap is an under-the-radar rainforest gem that truly shines during Cambodia’s green season. If you’re a fan of dazzling emerald landscapes, this is your dream spot—especially around the temple’s iconic “green lake” where reflections and light play on the water create absolute photo magic.
🗺️ Recommended Route:
Start just after opening (07:30 AM) to beat the crowds and catch prime morning light filtering through tangled roots and mossy stones. Follow the central causeway, then loop around the perimeter for stunning angles of collapsed galleries draped in jungle vibes. Don’t miss the northern gate—the path there is tranquil and the ruined carvings are Insta-gold.
📸 Must-Do & Insta-Worthy Spots:
Snap the green lake after a rainstorm—the surface glows with rich color when the sunshine returns. Clamber (carefully!) around the main hall for classic overgrown shots, and pause near the eastern entrance, where lesser-known trees twine beautifully around ancient stonework.
💡 Visiting Tips:
Green season (May–October) means fewer tourists and the lushest scenery, but pack a light rain jacket and wear waterproof shoes. Lighting is especially good in the early morning or after afternoon showers—watch for magical sunbeams!
⚠️ Precautions:
Paths can get slippery, especially near the lake—proceed slowly and keep an eye out for uneven steps. Bug spray is a must thanks to the moisture. And don’t climb on unstable ruins for that “perfect shot”—safety first.
