
The Zhou Enlai Memorial Room is located in the villa area on Hexi Road in Lushan, across from the Meilu Villa . Premier Zhou Enlai attended the Lushan Conference three times and stayed here during the 1961 Central Working Conference. This villa was built by American missionaries in 1905 .
In late 1945 , US President's special envoy George Marshall came to China to mediate the conflict between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, and in 1946 he met with Chiang Kai-shek at Mount Lushan for the eighth time. In 1948 , the US ambassador to China, John Leighton Stuart, also stayed here.
In 1990 , to commemorate the people's beloved Premier Zhou, this villa was designated the " Comrade Zhou Enlai's Activities in Lushan Memorial Room . " Precious objects and photos are displayed here, introducing Premier Zhou's revolutionary practice and major achievements in Lushan.
