How can you not plan a fulfilling day tour on your first day in Singapore? Here’s a recommended route covering Jewel Changi, Gardens by the Bay, National Museum of Singapore, and Jumbo Seafood, allowing you to deeply experience the charm of Singapore in a short time.
Morning: Energetic Start
• Jewel Changi (9:00 AM - 11:30 AM): Upon arrival in Singapore, head straight to Jewel Changi. This is a comprehensive entertainment hub next to Changi Airport, featuring the spectacular 40-meter Rain Vortex. During the day, sunlight cascades over the layers of water curtains, creating a dreamlike scene; at night, the sound and light show begins, offering a magical visual feast. The Forest Valley houses over 2,000 trees and more than 100,000 shrubs from various countries. Stroll through and breathe in the fresh air. You can also challenge yourself on the 50-meter walking net and 250-meter bouncing net for some excitement.
Noon: Culinary Feast
• Jumbo Seafood (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM): From Jewel Changi, head to Jumbo Seafood. Founded in 1987, this restaurant is a locally grown dining group with seven outlets across Singapore. The signature chili crab is a must-try—fresh, plump crab paired with a rich, mildly spicy, and sweet sauce that’s incredibly satisfying. The sauce goes perfectly with fried mantou buns! Besides the signature dish, crispy baby squid and sambal kangkong are also worth trying. If you want to enjoy your meal with a view of the Singapore River, choose the Riverside Point outlet at Clarke Quay.
Afternoon: Art and Nature Journey
• National Museum of Singapore (1:30 PM - 4:00 PM): This is Singapore’s oldest and one of Asia’s largest museums, spanning four floors and over 18,000 square meters. It features seven permanent exhibitions, including “Body in Action: Singapore’s Public Health Crisis and Response” and “Singapore: Ancient Trees,” with over 75,000 artifacts to help you deeply understand Singapore’s history and culture.
• Gardens by the Bay (4:30 PM - 7:00 PM): Gardens by the Bay is Singapore’s green new world, with the iconic “Supertrees” being truly impressive. The Flower Dome showcases various exotic flowers and plants, the Cloud Forest feels like a fairyland, and there’s an Avatar experience that lets you feel its unique charm. At 7:40 PM and 8:40 PM, don’t miss the free light show “Garden Rhapsody.”

• MRT: Singapore’s MRT network is well-developed, reaching most attractions. Purchase an EZ-Link card in advance for convenience and savings.
• Taxi: The Grab app is very convenient with relatively transparent pricing. During peak hours, it’s recommended to book your ride in advance.
