Sharing my experience traveling solo in Singapore

I just had the chance to visit Singapore, and I have to say it was a trip that impressed me and gave me more than I expected. At first, I was a bit worried because it was the first country where I managed everything on my own, not going with a tour. But once I got there, it was easy and very tourist-friendly. Everything was organized, transportation was convenient, the city was clean, everyone spoke English, and it was very safe.
This trip was 4 days and 3 nights. I planned it to be full but not too rushed. On the first day, I went to Marina Bay Sands in the evening to catch the night view. I must say the city lights were beautiful, with a modern yet slightly romantic vibe. Walking across the Helix Bridge and then seeing the real Merlion spouting water from its mouth was exciting like a kid. I had to take a photo with the lion as a keepsake.
On the second day, I woke up early to visit Gardens by the Bay. This place was amazing because it has both the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest, showcasing plants from around the world. There’s a simulated waterfall inside the dome, creating a very humid and refreshing atmosphere. In the evening, I watched the light and sound show at Supertree Grove. It was very crowded, but once the show started, everyone went silent, stopped filming, and just absorbed the atmosphere. It felt like being in a sci-fi movie.
Day three was all about Universal Studios Singapore! So much fun that I forgot my age. There were tons of great rides. I loved the Sci-Fi City zone, especially Battlestar Galactica, a dueling roller coaster. I was scared but still went on it. Then I went to the Jurassic Park zone to ride the rapids—got wet but it was super fun. Throughout the park, there were plenty of food options—snacks, ice cream, drinks. I tried a huge Turkey Leg that was so big it felt like holding a weapon. It was awesome.
On the last day before leaving, I stopped by Bugis Street to shop for souvenirs. The prices were cheap and the variety was huge, from clothes and daily items to small souvenirs like fridge magnets, keychains, and local snacks. I also visited the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple in Chinatown. The atmosphere was peaceful and beautiful, and you could really feel the devotion of the worshippers.
While traveling, I also practiced using English seriously, talking to strangers to ask for directions, and using Google Maps to plan my routes. This trip was not only fun but also made me feel more confident, braver, and gave me a broader perspective of the world.
Singapore may not be a big country, but it’s full of diversity—in culture, food, people, and advanced technology. This trip made me want to explore other countries and keep collecting new experiences in life.
For anyone hesitating about stepping out to explore a new world, the first country I recommend is “Singapore” because it’s super friendly for beginners, easy to travel, safe, has a great atmosphere, delicious food, and most importantly, there’s so much to learn.
