A small trip in a small country full of wow!🇸🇬
Singapore is a small country with big dreams.
When talking about "Singapore," many might think of a tiny country in Southeast Asia filled with tall buildings, a lion spouting water, electric trees, and an amusement park on an island. But we’ll tell you... Singapore has so much more than that! And importantly, it’s a very lovely country—easy to travel, clean city, friendly people, delicious food. It’s safe to travel alone and even more fun with friends!
- This trip, we went for 4 days and 3 nights, traveling unhurriedly, visiting every landmark, eating to the fullest, walking until tired, then returning to the hotel smiling, thinking... wow, Singapore really exceeded expectations.
DAY 1: Hello Singapore! Arrived at the Lion City
Our flight was early morning. We woke up at 4 AM and rushed to the plane with excitement! It took just over 2 hours to reach Changi Airport. Just stepping off the plane felt like entering the future. This airport is truly amazing—clean, high-tech, fragrant everywhere you go, and most importantly, Jewel Changi Airport with a waterfall in the middle of a huge mall! It’s spectacular, and you can take hundreds of photos without getting bored.
After strolling around Jewel for a while, we took the MRT into the city using an EZ-Link card, which works like a prepaid card for trains and buses. Traveling is super easy, as convenient as Tokyo but with a system friendlier to beginners.
Tonight, we stayed in the Bugis area, a very charming neighborhood with malls, restaurants, Korean cosmetic shops, and many cute cafes. You can walk all day without getting bored.
DAY 2: Visit landmarks and eat it all in one day
We woke up to light rain, but nothing can stop a traveler’s energy! We started the day by eating famous chicken rice at Maxwell Food Centre. Everyone talks about Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice, and we can say it’s as delicious as rumored—tender chicken, flavorful broth, fragrant rice, so good you don’t need any extra seasoning.
Then we walked to take photos with the Merlion, the water-spouting lion symbol of the country. This spot is classic; if you don’t take a photo here, it’s like you haven’t been. The view here is also great because you can see Marina Bay Sands across the bay—the three towers with a boat-shaped structure on top. Yes, it’s that grand.
In the afternoon, we went to Gardens by the Bay. The highlight here is the Supertree Grove, giant metal trees that look beautiful during the day but even more stunning at night with the Garden Rhapsody light and sound show every day! Watching it gave us chills, like stepping into a sci-fi movie.
Before heading back, we had dinner at Lau Pa Sat, a downtown food court decorated in Victorian style. They have freshly grilled satay with a fragrant aroma, and the peanut sauce is amazing—perfect for sitting and eating with friends in the evening.
DAY 3: Explore hip neighborhoods + world-class premium views
Today, we planned a chill walk starting at Chinatown, which isn’t just about souvenir shops but also has Chinese temples, Hindu temples, and refreshing herbal drink shops that help cool you down. And of course, we had to eat Bak Kut Teh! A fragrant pork rib herbal soup that’s salty, spicy, slightly sweet, and refreshing.
Next, we went to Little India, full of bright colors in buildings, shops, and temples with distinct Indian art. There are also fabric shops, jewelry stores, and spice shops filling the street with wonderful aromas.
In the afternoon, we visited Haji Lane, Singapore’s hippest neighborhood perfect for photos. It has pastel-colored cafes, cool graffiti walls, and handmade clothing shops. We recommend stopping by a bubble tea cafe to sip tea while listening to soft music—it feels like being in Brooklyn!
In the evening, we went to Marina Bay Sands SkyPark to watch the sunset from the rooftop. You get a panoramic view of the city. The view here is super premium—you see the bay, boats, reflections on glass buildings. You can take photos from every angle, and the golden hour light is incredibly romantic.
DAY 4: Sentosa, the final fun
It’s the last day but we’re not ready to leave! We packed and headed straight to Sentosa Island by the purple line train. This island has all the fun in one place—amusement parks, museums, beaches, and restaurants.
We started at Universal Studios Singapore. Though not as big as the one in America, the rides are very fun, especially Transformers 4D and Revenge of the Mummy. They’re thrilling and suitable for all ages.
There’s also Siloso Beach for a seaside walk, photos with the giant Sentosa Merlion, and a visit to the Wings of Time light and sound show by the sea. It’s an outdoor show telling a story with water, fire, and lasers—very beautiful and impressive.
Before leaving, we bought some souvenirs like pineapple tarts, uniquely flavored Singaporean candies, and cute magnets to give to friends and family.

Heartfelt tips
• Don’t forget to bring an umbrella or hat because the sun is strong but it can rain anytime.
• Buy just one bottle of water because tap water here is drinkable and refillable everywhere, saving money.
• We recommend sneakers because you’ll walk a lot; otherwise, your feet will hurt.
• Download the MyTransport & Google Maps apps to make traveling easy and plan your trip perfectly.

Summary: Singapore is small but has a big heart
Who says a small country has nothing to explore? Singapore proves that size doesn’t matter as much as “quality.” This city is full of orderliness, cleanliness, charm, and attention to detail—in attractions, food, people, and transportation. Everything is designed to suit every type of traveler, whether alone, as a couple, or in a group.
For us, this trip was tiring but fun, joyful but we didn’t want to leave. If you’re hesitating about going to Singapore, we say... “Go! You’ll definitely fall in love like we did!”
