Mandai zoo combo drives me crazy
🦓Singapore Zoo - River Wonder - Night Safari🐯
🐘I like to spend a whole day in the Mandai area to immerse myself with the animals and learn many interesting things. The ticket price is high but worth it; the most economical way is to buy the combo to visit everything.
🦒In the morning, you can have breakfast at the center and then head here. If you are a family of 3 or more, a taxi is the optimal choice in terms of time and comfort. But catching a taxi on the way back is a nightmare for me; there were times I wished I had booked a car rental in advance to avoid waiting in the afternoon. But the bus can still save you if unlucky.
🐻If you want to explore carefully, visiting each cage and area, rent an electric cart like the one in the picture I rented for my mom; it’s a real lifesaver when tired compared to the price paid. But from my latest update, it seems Mandai has removed these carts and only has pull carts and strollers for kids 🥺 Luckily, I took my mom along, so I was lucky.
🦜In Singapore Zoo, there is a Tram electric cart usually included in the ticket price, so if you’re tired, you can hop on to the next station and then get off.
🐼I like River Wonder the most not only because of the pandas but also because of the $5 separate river boat ride. It’s USS but it doesn’t really care, just watching the animals on both sides, but you need luck to see them because if there are only 1 or 2 individuals, they hide in the shade. Between Zoo and River, if I had to choose one, I’d pick River when going with adults and kids because it’s cool and has a roof.
🐾Night Safari is one of my favorite experiences, from the night electric tram ride to walking by yourself, all are fun experiences. I like how everything sinks into the darkness with only the audio commentary, no spotlight, no disturbance to the animals’ activities, it feels very natural and authentic. There is an animal circus which doesn’t feel too circus-like or offensive, but I still don’t like it huhu.
💞❣️Currently, there are 2 new parks including Bird Paradise relocated to the Mandai area and renovated. The newest is Rainforest Wild, which I haven’t had a chance to visit in June yet, so I can’t review it. Looking at it, I expect more from Rainforest, but it feels underwhelming, a bit artificial. I have visited the Zoo many times in 22 and 23 and always hoped for more.
🍽️🍽️Regarding food, seeing Songfa open a branch here is great, and with KFC, that’s enough for families with adults and kids. If you want to experience local cuisine, there is a Foodcourt near the Zoo gate, which is okay, a bit pricey but decent.
💥💥Reviewing in hopes of bringing the two new kids this year for a complete trip 🫶🫶🫶
