Captivating Italian experience

Had lunch at Altro Zafferano and it was such a nice break from the usual hustle. The 43rd-floor setting gives you killer views of Marina Bay, and the whole vibe is relaxed but still fancy enough to feel like a little treat.
We started with their focaccia topped with San Marzano tomatoes and fresh basil—it was simple but really flavorful, like a little sunny slice of Italy. The octopus and potato salad was fresh and bright, perfect for a light starter.
For mains, the Rigatoni alla Gricia was a highlight—creamy and cheesy, with crispy guanciale and a surprising kick from Sichuan pepper that kept things interesting. The pasta was tossed tableside, which was fun and added a bit of theatre to the meal.
Also tried the seabass cooked in acqua pazza style—light, moist, and full of delicate flavours from the broth and herbs. The black Angus tagliata was juicy and tender, perfect alongside the peppery rocket salad.
Finished with their tiramisu—light, with just a hint of Cointreau, and gluten-free ladyfingers that made it feel a bit lighter but still indulgent.
The service was friendly and attentive without being over the top, and the pacing was just right. It’s the kind of place where you can sit back, relax, and really enjoy your food and the view.
If you want a laid-back lunch with solid Southern Italian dishes and a stunning cityscape backdrop, Altro Zafferano is a great choice.
