Nepal: Deep culture, history & religion dwarfed by the worlds tallest mountains

Nepal is pure magic; an adventure wrapped in jaw dropping scenery and rich culture.

Kathmandu is chaos and charm rolled into one: ancient temples, incense wafting through the air, and the sense that history is layered in every brick.

Then there's Pokhara - more chilled out, lakeside activities and eateries, with the Himalayas looming in the background.

But the real adventure??

Trekking the Manaslu Circuit. It's tough but unbelievably rewarding, winding through remote villages where the hospitality is as warm as the tea. Reaching Manaslu Base Camp is a surreal moment - it's a long way up to reach it, and you're still no where the top. It was busier than expected and the pounding in my head from the altitude made me feel nauseous. This is a place you have to respect, or it'll hurt you.

This is also Gurkha country, where courage runs deep, as well as other signs: The ever present kukri.

You feel the spiritual weight of centuries in every stupa, prayer flag, and monastery. And if you scratch beneath the surface, Nepal’s people are what really makes it special: so friendly and so proud, especially of their children. It's unforgettable.
