Absolutely Loved My Stay at Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong! Perfect Blend of Culture & Convenience!

Just got back from Singapore 🇸🇬!!!
Highly recommend staying at Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong 🏨
Right across the street is the vibrant “Joo Chiat” street — full of great food, drinks, and photo spots 😋📷 The Marine Parade MRT station is only a 5-7 minute walk away 🚶🏿♀️, making it super convenient to get around (especially since taxis in Singapore are pricey — staying near public transport is a smart move 🚘).

·

The rooms are designed in a traditional Peranakan-style 😌
When traveling, it’s all about staying somewhere with local character!!!
I chose a room with a bathtub — the large circular tub was perfect for a relaxing soak 🛁 (I brought my own bubble bath ball; the hotel provides bath salts ✔️).
Breakfast is semi-buffet style with a different à la carte menu daily (order as many items as you want!), while milk, yogurt, smoked salmon, ham, salads, fresh fruits, bread, and pastries are all self-serve 😋

·

Beside the lobby front desk, there’s an art + retail zone! Here you can buy beautiful Peranakan-style souvenirs and local Singaporean specialties (like coffee and tea) 🛍️ Mugs, postcards, even pet clothes… 😍 So many lovely things — you’ll want to take everything home!!!

·

Make sure to visit the open-air rooftop pool — it’s super Instagrammable 📷
It’s photogenic both day and night 🍻 You can also order cocktails, lay back, and chill — pure bliss! The area around the hotel has plenty of bars too!
Joo Chiat Street across the road is a must-visit spot for tourists. There’s also a Peranakan Costume Museum 📍 (Peranakan Museum) about 8-10 minutes away by foot. You can buy a ticket, rent traditional outfits there, and even pay extra for a photoshoot with their photographer — or take the clothes out for your own shoot! The museum is compact but packed with exhibits, and the guides are very informative 💯
They also offer a Peranakan-themed afternoon tea 🍰 (If you book the Peranakan Escape Room package in advance at the hotel, the museum experience is included — no extra fee!!!)
