My Stay at Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong: A Nyonya Charm! 🌺🏨

Just had a lovely stay at the Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong, right by the vibrant Joo Chiat Road! Here's the lowdown:

Getting There:

Getting to the airport isn't far by taxi. However, I arrived super late (like, in the middle of the night) and my pick-up was an Alphard that took the expressway, so the fare ended up being S$285! 💸 (Just a heads-up for late-night arrivals!)
Nyonya Vibes & Service:

The hotel really embraces that beautiful Nyonya style! When I arrived in the dead of night, there was only one front desk staff member who didn't speak Mandarin. But thankfully, they understood simple requests, so check-in was smooth. The next day, the staff on duty spoke Mandarin, which was great! 😊
Room & Location Perks:

The room was actually quite spacious! From my window, I had a view right down onto Joo Chiat Road, which was super convenient for exploring.
It's not far from East Coast Park, but actually walking there takes over half an hour, so I opted for a taxi. Much quicker! 🚕
Breakfast Delights!

The hotel breakfast is a definite highlight! 🍳🧇 The yogurt was especially delicious and sweet, and the doughnuts were tasty too. Plus, they even do latte art for the coffee – a nice touch! ☕ (A slight hiccup on day one: the non-Mandarin speaking server made me feel a bit sad, but I was ready with my translation app the next day, only to find the staff spoke Mandarin! 😂 Typical!)
Check-out & Amenities:

The hotel kindly gave me a slip for a late check-out until 2 PM. Since I had to check out that day anyway, I just left in the morning.
There's also a pool upstairs, along with a gym. Great for a quick workout or a dip! 🏊♀️💪
Overall Thoughts:
Singapore isn't a huge city, but if your main goal is to explore the city center, I'd still recommend staying there. However, the scenery around Hotel Indigo Katong is truly lovely. You'll find quite a few Caucasians in the Joo Chiat area, and fewer Mandarin speakers than you might expect. But for a couple of days of just relaxing and unwinding, staying here is absolutely perfect! 💖
